    Centre LSD Hosts High-level National Summit on Women’s Inclusion in Nigeria

    The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD) will host a one-day High-level National Summit on Women’s Inclusion in Nigeria on August 22. The summit which aims to highlight the importance of women’s inclusion in governance, will bring together stakeholders from the National Assembly, media, academia, development partners, traditional and religious leaders, the Side-by-Side Movement for gender justice, and advocates for gender justice.

    The Centre’s MEL Director, Victoria Udoh in a press release  said the summit which will harmonize efforts and actions by the various stakeholders and organizations on women’s inclusion in governance, will also broker synergy and map out a joint strategy and actions for collective impact. 

    According to her, Prof. Oluwafunmilayo Para-Mallam, Mni, Professor of Gender and Development Studies, and Director of Research, National Institute for Policy & Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, shall give the Keynote speech.

    Dignitaries expected include; Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Federation; Senate President; Speakers House of Representatives; Deputy Senate president; Deputy Speaker, Chair of NGO Committee in the Senate and House of Representatives.

    “All female Senators and House of Representatives legislators; Minister of Women Affairs; Minister of Youths; all Nigeria Female Ministers; House of Representatives; Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs; Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi; former Chairperson of the Nigerian Governors’ Wives Forum; Chairman, Abia State Commission for the Welfare of the Disabled Persons; development partners and several other dignitaries will grace the occasion with their presence.”

    The  center enjoined those who are unable to attend in person to please hook up to the event using the hashtag #WomenCanLead, via Centre LSD social media handles and Zoom ID: 879 8230 1528 Passcode: 787251###.
