Age is still very much on your side. As the Scripture says, “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth” (Ecclesiastes 12:1). Youth is a season for building wisely, not scattering strength. I therefore advise you, as a brother and sincere well-wisher, not to waste your hard-earned money, time, and energy in the PDP. The APC is steadily emerging as the dominant political force in Akwa Ibom State, and your talents, intelligence, and youthful energy would be better invested where they can truly make a lasting and meaningful impact.
You are a young man I deeply respect for your diligence, brilliance, and commitment. While I acknowledge that you currently serve as the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, I strongly urge you to carefully reconsider your political path. The Bible reminds us that “Wisdom is profitable to direct” (Ecclesiastes 10:10). Governors and key leaders are leaving the PDP daily, and the space for growth, relevance, and meaningful service is rapidly shrinking.
I speak from personal experience. I served as the State Chairman of the PDP Akwa Ibom State (Abuja Front) during the administration of Governor Obong Victor Attah, where I personally funded my air tickets and hotel bills, believing wholeheartedly in the struggle. In the end, the Abuja Front did not succeed. Many people quietly found their way back into the system, while I was left exposed—and, my brother, I have not fully recovered till today. As Scripture warns, “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help” (Psalm 146:3). Please do not blindly trust those pushing you today; by nightfall, some would have settled and moved on.
Governor Umo Eno, your former boss, is a peaceful, inclusive, and visionary leader. He is a man who values loyalty, competence, and sincerity of purpose, and he would welcome you back, just as many of us who value hard work, intelligence, and genuine dedication to progress would. “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” (Proverbs 16:7).
My brother, life and politics are about timing and discernment. “The prudent man foresees danger and takes refuge” (Proverbs 22:3). Think deeply. Choose wisely. Align yourself where your efforts will be respected, your sacrifices rewarded, and your future secured.
