President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on December 7, 2025, confer the Distinguished Award for Excellence in Infrastructure Delivery and Sustainable Regional Growth on the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
The announcement was contained in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office (GSO), Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. According to the letter, Ogbuku will receive the honour at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS), organised by The Best Strategic (TBS) Media in collaboration with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
The award ceremony will take place at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, and will be attended by President Tinubu.
Danjuma, in his correspondence, stated that the nomination followed the recommendation of the NEAPS Advisory Council.
“With reference to the letter from the Chairman, Advisory Council of the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service, I write to respectfully inform you that you have been nominated to receive a Distinguished Award for Excellence in Infrastructure Delivery and Sustainable Regional Growth,” he said.
Dr. Ogbuku’s recognition comes months after President Tinubu, during the Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit in Port Harcourt on July 12, 2024, praised the NDDC Board and Management for their synergy and commitment to accelerating development in the Niger Delta.
Under Ogbuku’s leadership, the NDDC has executed several key infrastructure projects — including roads, bridges and community facilities — aimed at improving livelihoods and driving sustainable regional growth.
