Leaders and stakeholders from Nsit Ubium Local Government Area have reaffirmed their strong political backing for the Akwa Ibom State Governor, pledging to translate their support into an overwhelming electoral victory in the forthcoming polls.

This declaration was made during the formal inauguration of the Nsit Ubium chapter of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, held at the council secretariat.

Speaking at the event, the International Coordinator of the Initiative, Rt. Hon. Udo Kieran Akpan, commended the people for sustaining peace and unity. He described Nsit Ubium as a politically conscious area with a deep understanding of strategy and timing. He emphasized that the gathering was not a campaign event but an opportunity to appreciate the people’s loyalty and encourage continued support for the Governor and other key leaders at both state and national levels.

Also addressing the gathering, the President General of the Initiative, Engr. Uwem Okoko, expressed optimism that the collective resolve of the people would translate into tangible electoral success. He urged stakeholders to convert their enthusiasm into votes, stressing the importance of strengthening collaboration between the state and federal governments for sustained development.

He further noted that the alignment between the state government and the leadership of the National Assembly, particularly the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has continued to attract federal presence and developmental interventions to the state, thereby accelerating the delivery of the administration’s ARISE Agenda.

In his remarks, the Member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Otobong Bob, dismissed competing claims from other local government areas regarding political loyalty to the Governor. He insisted that Nsit Ubium would distinguish itself at the polls by surpassing previous voting records and aligning with the wider Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District to secure victory for key candidates.

At the local level, the Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the Initiative in Nsit Ubium, Hon. Udeme Sylvanus, alongside the Executive Chairman of the Local Government Area, Hon. Alfred Charles, pledged unity of purpose among stakeholders to deliver decisive electoral outcomes.

Delivering a goodwill message, the political leader of Uyo Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Effiong Bob, underscored the determination of the people to achieve comprehensive victory, noting that their focus extends beyond winning elections to securing dominant results.

Highlighting developmental strides in the area, the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Capt. Iniobong Ekong (Rtd), listed key projects including youth-focused facilities, road infrastructure, bridges, compassionate homes, and ongoing educational developments as evidence of effective governance.

Youth and women representatives also declared their readiness to mobilize support. The Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization, Cmr. Abel Williams, affirmed the commitment of young people, while the wife of the council chairman, Imabong Alfred Charles, assured total backing from women across the local government.

On the party side, the APC State Deputy Chairman, Aniekan Ekpo, accompanied by the State Organizing Secretary, Barr. Victor Akpan, reiterated the party’s readiness to support its candidates and ensure electoral success.

The event also featured goodwill messages from several prominent figures, including Arc. Iniobong Orok, Pastor Sunny James, former Deputy Speaker Hon. Aniefiok Thompson, Otobong Edemediong, Ukai Ubong Sam, Elder Ini Obot, Apostle Ita Ita, and Engr. Don Bassey, all of whom echoed the call for unity and sustained political engagement.
