For the first time in the political history of Akwa Ibom State, the Governor and the Deputy Governor are working in perfect harmony without rancor or rivalry. His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, and Her Excellency, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, have built a partnership founded on trust, loyalty, and mutual respect — a partnership that has become the engine room for the successful implementation of the ARISE Agenda.

The ARISE Agenda, which emphasizes Agricultural Revolution, Rural Development, Infrastructure Maintenance, Security Management, and Education/Health Care Renewal, is being pursued with uncommon focus because the leadership of the state is united. Governor Umo Eno’s vision is being perfectly complemented by Senator Eyakenyi’s loyalty, humility, and dedication to service.

Already, the impact is visible:

Agriculture & Food Security: Farmers are being supported to boost production and ensure food sufficiency across the state.

Rural Development: Access roads, markets, and community-based projects are bringing government closer to the grassroots.

Education & Youth Empowerment: Schools are receiving attention, and young people are being empowered with skills and opportunities for self-reliance.

Healthcare: Investments in primary healthcare centers are making quality health services available to more communities.

Chief Edet Isong, Okete Okete Oro, has lauded this partnership and called on other Deputy Governors across Nigeria to emulate the Akwa Ibom example. In his words: “The collaboration between Governor Umo Eno and Deputy Governor Akon Eyakenyi has shown that leadership is not about competition but about complementing each other for the good of the people. This is the type of synergy Nigeria needs at every level of government.”

Truly, the Umo Eno–Akon Eyakenyi partnership stands as a model of good governance — proof that when leaders work together in unity, the people experience peace, progress, and prosperity.
