    Berger Abuja Area Command through it Area Commander, Amos Yakubu has corrected a wrong notion on a video trending online involving some DRTS officers in scuffle with some touts who aided the escape of an apprehended green golf.

    The Area Commander in a phone chat with one of the mediums through a DRTS known Consultant Comrade, Salihu Dantata Mahmud reiterated that Berger only have roundabout and overhead bridge and no paedestrian bridge as showcased In the video.

    He advised social media bloggers to always verify facts before concluding on issues.
    In his words Comrade Salihu Dantata Mahmud a former bureau Chief of Ivory Magazine London in Nigeria and daily news advised media practitioner to always scrutinise online and social media posts before tapping from it in line with ethical provisions of media practice.

    Salihu recalled how he made damage balancing to one of the Abuja base radio stations when fracas ensued between police Mabushi division and some officers at drts head office in Mabushi when a police officer jumped fence in his desperacy to arrest a suspect against standard in the security agencies.

    He said: “An officer sympathetic to his colleagues under condition of anonymity misinformed the radio station which approached me and I corrected the notion through defence and evidence.

    “I want to implore the general public to always avail themselves of the opportunity of the drts call centre, servicom and public relations department or write whenever they feel oppressed or aggrieved on operational deficiency and excesses of some officers on operational duty.”

    Salihu also a former personal assistant on media to interior minister emphasised that as an experienced media practitioner, he always verify facts before publishing investigated reports.

    “The recent formal pulling out parade of an Assistant Director, Mr. Obiorah where a guards of honour was mounted by officers and men of drts led by commander MI Sani and observed by DRTS Director, Dr. Abdul Lateef Bello was an event attended by civilians and well wishers is a testimony of public trust,”he added.
