Commends Morgan Ekanem at daughter’s dedication ceremony
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Bassey Eno, has called on young people to remain diligent and committed to their responsibilities in order to achieve their aspirations in life.
Governor Eno made this call during the dedication service of Baby Blossom Morgan Ekanem, daughter of Barrister Morgan Ekanem, his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties. The ceremony took place at Victory Chapel, University of Uyo Township Campus.
Speaking at the event, the Governor praised Ekanem for the dedication and efficiency he has displayed in serving the administration, noting that his commitment to duty has been both commendable and impactful.
Quoting the biblical passage from Proverbs, the Governor remarked that diligence in one’s work opens doors to greater opportunities, adding that those who carry out their duties faithfully often rise to positions of honour and influence.
He described Ekanem as a dependable member of his team who consistently delivers results whenever called upon, emphasizing that such dedication is worthy of recognition.
The Governor used the occasion to encourage young people to distinguish themselves through hard work, excellence, and responsibility. According to him, commitment to one’s duties not only attracts opportunities but also contributes to personal growth and societal development.
He congratulated Barrister Ekanem and his wife on the birth and dedication of their daughter, praying for God’s continued blessings, protection, and grace upon the family.
In his response, Barrister Ekanem expressed appreciation to the Governor for attending the ceremony and for the opportunity to serve in his administration.
Delivering the sermon titled “You and Your Mother,” drawn from Proverbs 31:27, Reverend Iniobong Udoh highlighted the vital role mothers play in the stability and growth of families and society. He encouraged children, fathers, and husbands to honour and support mothers for their sacrifices and contributions.
Rev. Udoh also urged children to listen to the guidance of their mothers, noting that their wisdom and care help shape the future of families and generations.
The highlight of the service was the formal dedication of Baby Blossom Morgan Ekanem, as the family offered prayers of thanksgiving for God’s blessings.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Dr Akon Eyakenyi; the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Obareki; the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong; Chief Delivery Advisor/Executive Assistant to the Governor, Mr. Aniefiok Johnson; members of the State Executive Council; local government chairmen; political leaders; members of the clergy; and other government officials.
