The Conference of Patriotism Nigerians(COPAN)  has charged Nigerians particularly the opposition on  patriotism, understanding and safeguarding of Nigeria’s interest rather than escalating issues that ordinarily don’t deserve attention.

Barrister Uchenna Odieli in a media chat with some correspondents emphasised that  contrary to speculations on social media and some news platforms, Chief Ajuri Ngelale  has not resigned as the presidential spokesperson.

He simply embarked on indefinite leave of absence so as  to attend to tasking family demands, health and other private issues as explained by him in a press statement issued to the press.

He emphatically explained in the press statement that he raised a memo  to the chief of staff to the President to that effect and it was granted.

“Health and family challenges are issues that cannot be toyed with hence his decision.

The Former US President Joe Biden had to handover to his vice to stand as the candidate of US  democratic party due to ill health, so it  is not a new thing but in Nigeria,it has been given colouration.

“The rumour  going round that his temporary absence  might not be unconnected with disagreements with the administration is false and should be disregarded. “

“We in the conference of patriotic Nigerians are confident that Chief Ajuri remains committed to serving the President and commander in Chief of Armed forces of Nigeria and the country at large and also optimistic that his request for indefinite leave of absence is solely on heath ground.

COPAN  wish him  a quick recovery and look forward to his timely return to continue from where he stopped.

“Let us avoid spreading  false information and focus on supporting each other particularly during times of need.May Nigeria continue to strive against enemy’s expectations”, he said.
