The recent bailing of one Akajo Gyara who was earlier arrested by the IGP monitoring unit at the force headquarter after families of the sixteen Fulani herdsmen massacred by the outlawed Kauthar hore vigilantee security outfit last year November in kwaku village of the kuje Area council Abuja.

The Nasarawa state attorney general Ibrahim Musa secured the bail of Akajo Gyara from the IG monitoring unit which bring us to the earlier suspicion that the Nasarawa state government was behind the setting up of the Kauthar hore vigilantee even though denied by the governor AA Sule.

The Aypas spokesperson Zainab Abdul is therefore calling on the IG and the DSS DG to investigate this allegation.

“We have evidence to indict the Nasarawa AG and commissioner for justice afterall Gyara is not a civil servant with Nasarawa state so why the interest? If the state government has no collaboration with the outlawed vigilantee group then why the bailing of Akajo Gyara by no one else but the chief law officer of the state.

“We want a serious inquiry into this matter. Akajo Gyara in November last year led some operatives of the Kauthar hore security outfit to Kwaku in kuje where they killed sixteen Fulani herdsmen inthe guise of looking to kidnappers and bandits which turned out to be the other way”, he said.

In addition, the Arewa youths for peace and security is therefore urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to institute an investigative panel to unravel this mystery. National security cannot be toyed with. The DSS had earlier outlawed the Kauthar hore vigilantee group under Badejo. The granting of Bail to murder suspect of about sixteen innocent herdsmen does not speak well for the police. There are bailable offences but murder case with evidence should not be one of them. Several call were made by civil society groups before the suspect Gyara who led the team of the massacre was invited and detained by the IGP monitoring unit. The senate committee on police affairs should also wade into this matter inthe interest of peace.
