President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, today attended the funeral service of late Sir Donatus Linus Amama in Nto Edino1, Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Sir Amama is the elder brother of the Special Assistant to the President of the Senate on Youth Matters, Comrade Emmanuel Amama.

In his very brief condolence message at the country home of the deceased, Akpabio described his death as “a very painful situation, saying, “he lived for the people of Obot Akara. I am here to assure the children and wife that they are not alone in this. My prayer is that the years he couldn’t live, it would be added to you and the children. Mine is to pray for you that you and your children will live longer. The path he has gone all of us will one day go that way.”

He prayed for all those who came to mourn with the family that untimely death will not be their portion. “Our late brother has gone to be in a better place. A Foundation in his honour for the future education of the children would be established. The children won’t suffer because of people like us here.

In his mesage of appreciation, Comrade Amama thanked the Senate President and his wife, Dr Mrs Unoma Godswill Akpabio for honoring the family with their esteemed presence.
