We will work with stakeholders to ensure Nigeria partake from 4th Industrial Revolution

The Nigerian Communication Commission said there is need to harness the critical contribution of all stakeholders in the Telecommunication sector in order to enable the country to participate in the Fourth Industrial revolution as drivers and innovators.

The Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof Umar Danbatta made the disclosure at the virtual 3rd discourse series of the Advocaat Law practice.
Prof Danbatta was represented by Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, Barister Adeleke Adewolu.
Speaking at the event, he said the commission will continue to count on all support of industry stakeholders and professionals in the Telecom sector.
” We will ensure that no one is left behind in evolving digital future. We must take drastic and deliberate measures by re -awakening our consciousness in the power of Technology in the 4th Industrial revolution”.
He emphasized on the need for African countries to reposition the various economies for digital prosperity, and abundance to drive efficiency.
“We need to create jobs for the Tsunami of the youth population so as to deploy their creative energy for Africa economic development.
The country is not lacking in key policy and registration framework, and will enable the country to play a leading role in powering the fourth Industrial revolution”.
In addition, the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, is also seeking the support of all stakeholders regarding the issue of citizen’s identification, and digital identity.
“The identification of citizen is critical to the country’s digital emergence, and future growth.
The Federal Government has articulated a policy that all Nigerians must possess a unique National Identification Number(NIN) issued by the National Identity Management Commission(NIMC).
The NIN must be linked with all Identity databases, particularly Subscriber Identity Module(SIM) registration database.
