The Founder of Merck Foundation, Senator Rasha Kelej said she will continue to empower women in the area of infertility and seek for ways of empowering women to give in their best in their different endeavors. She made the disclosure at an online live chat.

According to Senator Rasha Kelej, she decided to start Merck More than a Mother Foundation in order to empower infertile women through access to information, education and change of mind-sets.

“We are supporting governments in defining policies and providing equitable fertility care solutions. We are working through mothers to make them know that they are very important. We are also reaching out to all women either you have given birth or not”.

In the same vein, she urged couples to always go for fertility test regularly.

“Infertility has nothing to do with your sexuality. We want everyone to know that infertility is no respecter of gender. The Foundation is always encouraging couples to love each other and support themselves.”

While speaking about some of the impact of her Organization in terms of education and girl child development, she urged all parents to always encourage their ward to attend school or learn a skill.

“The family is a very important part of the society, when children are empowered from their early age, it will enable them to be an independent person and not be a burden to the society. The girl child should be encouraged to attend school, and should not be pushed into early marriage”.
