The Coordinator of the Conference of Patriotic Nigerians (COPAN), Hon. Barr. Odieli Uchenna, has urged Nigerians to look beyond family ties and evaluate Barr. Seyi Tinubu’s performance on his own merit.

Speaking on the controversy surrounding Tinubu’s presence at the swearing-in of the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Uchenna emphasized that the young lawyer has taken on responsibilities and is contributing to  legal services.

“Let’s not judge him solely based on his surname.

He is  a capable lawyer who has been invited to participate in the office’s work. His family connection should not be a disqualification”, he said.

Uchenna noted that many public figures have family members involved in their offices, sharing expertise and experience. “Let’s give him a fair chance to prove himself and avoid making assumptions based on his family relationship,” he added.

The Conference  also hailed the appointment of Justice Kekere Ekun as the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria as well as the appointments of Ajayi and Mohammed as Directors General of DSS  and NIA respectively.

The COPAN Coordinator called for citizens support for  Tinubu administration in tackling poverty, insecurity and revamping the economy.

He emphasised that the Nigerian project has come to stay through the renewed hope blueprint geared towards human capacity building, education for all at all levels, power supply, security, infrastructural facelift, health care delivery, youth and women  empowerment, diplomacy and promotion of unity.

“The present economic hardship  is temporal as it shall become an issue of the past”, he said.
