    Executive Director, Projects – Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

    Background & Education

    Born on May 19, 1965, in Ituk Mbang, Akwa Ibom State, Sir Victor Etim Antai is a leader of notable discipline and vision. He earned a B.Sc. in Geography and an M.Sc. in Logistics and Transportation Management from the University of Port Harcourt. Notably, he has since completed his Ph.D. in Logistics and Transportation Management at the same institution, cementing his academic credentials in the field  .

    Career & Public Service

    Sir Antai’s professional trajectory highlights robust leadership and grassroots impact:

    • Chief Operating Officer, Maintenance Culture Limited.
    • Founder & CEO, Men at Work LTD.
    • Chairman, Mbo Local Government Area (2008–2015), becoming the first to secure re-election for a second term  .

    He subsequently served as Commissioner for both Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs and Tourism & Culture in Akwa Ibom State, leading transformative cultural, infrastructural, and governance initiatives  .

    NDDC Leadership & Appointment

    In August 2023, President Bola Tinubu appointed Sir Victor Antai as Executive Director (Projects) of the NDDC, entrusting him with overseeing regional infrastructure and development efforts across Nigeria’s oil-producing states  .

    Contributions & Impact

    He has been instrumental in several high-impact initiatives, including:

    • Reviving a 180-ton-per-day rice mill in Rivers State to boost food security and industrialization efforts.
    • Leading Project HOPE, designed to engage young people in agribusiness by equipping them with modern technology and training  .

    Sir Antai’s excellence and service have been honored with:

    • Knight of John Wesley (KJW) – Methodist Church Nigeria.
    • Ibom Pride Award of Excellence.
