    A LEGACY OF SERVICE AND DEVELOPMENT
    Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, born on May 27, 1965, in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, is a Nigerian politician whose career spans the legislature, executive governance, and federal cabinet leadership. He is happily married to Dame Judith Amaechi, and together they have three sons.

    • Education: Built over 500 model primary schools equipped with ICT facilities and libraries; recruited over 13,000 teachers; awarded thousands of local and overseas scholarships.
    • Healthcare: Established more than 300 primary health centres; upgraded hospitals such as Kelsey Harrison Specialist Hospital; employed over 400 doctors.
    • Infrastructure: Constructed and rehabilitated roads, bridges, and a monorail; initiated the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Plan; expanded electricity generation.
    • Culture & Sports: Led Port Harcourt’s successful bid for UNESCO World Book Capital 2014; hosted the National Sports Festival.

    • Rail Development: Delivered Abuja–Kaduna, Lagos–Ibadan, and Warri–Itakpe standard gauge rail lines; commenced Kano–Maradi and other national railway projects.

    • Port Modernization: Built inland dry ports (e.g., Kaduna, Dala) and introduced modern port equipment.
    • Institutional Reform: Revamped the Maritime Academy of Nigeria; introduced e-ticketing for rail transport; improved inland waterways operations.
