EDEGHE-OYO, ONWIAKANYI, UDIOK-OYO, ONWIAKANYI!
My dear brothers and sisters of Akpakip Oro, (ORO NATION), I extend hands of fraternity and fellowship to you all. It shall be well with ORO NATION in Jesus name, amen.
Permit me to draw our kind attention to remind us that, our son, Senator Nelson Effiong, former Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is still in the cold hands and incarceration of his adoptors, Kidnappers for more than a month now and there is no iota of effort made for his release by Oro Nation, at least, not to my knowledge. Whether the security apparatus had swung into action for his release and to what extent, is a story for another day.
What has ORO as ekwei do for their brother and son to regain freedom? Are we playing the principle of brother’s keeper or politics of vendetta or vengeance?
Feelers dropped unconfirmed information that, a great percentage of ORO NATION shows lukewarm, lackadaisical attitude and developed cold-feet towards the freedom of Sir Nelson Effiong due to his alleged unfriendly and ungenerosity attitude toward his kinsmen in particular and Oron Nation in general while in office as speaker and a senator, so they care not.
Let assume, without conceding that he did not represent us well or, left legacies while in Office, can this be the rationale for Oro to allow Nelson Effiong languished as if he has no root?
Oroenyin, can Ibibio or Annang be so heartless and unconcerned to their people no matter how bad their person is? Are we practicing Christianity or Judaism or Mosaicism where an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth is the order of the day?
Why can’t we unite to bring him back alive so that we can now apportion blame if any, rather than for us to allow him rotten in the kidnappers’s dungeon as vendetta, vengeance or a pay back time due to his alleged ungenerosity.
The good members of the Methodist Church, because I was told, that Nelson Effiong is a member of Worthy is the Lamb and the entire Christiandom in ORO, what efforts have we made to release our fellow christian?
I appeal to all Oronians, in the name of God, kiths and kin, Security apparatus, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Akwa Ibom State Government, Senate and Federal Government to rise up for the unconditional release of Senator Nelson Effiong because, udiok-oyo, onwiakanyi, edeghe-oyo, onwiakanyi. Let us sheath our sword and be united for his release, please.
I pray God Almighty to intervene and touch our people and other stakeholders to fastrack the release of our brother and son.
I am just disturbed in the Spirit to make this appeal as a concern son of Oro and in my capacity as the President of Oron Union, Abuja Branch.
Abazi odiong Oro.
