The Okobo Local Government Area has taken delivery of rice palliatives from the Akwa Ibom State Government, in collaboration with the federal government, as part of efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people. The Transition Committee Chairman, Engr. George Henshaw, oversaw the distribution process, ensuring transparency and fairness in reaching all 66 gazetted villages in Okobo.

Speaking during the distribution, Engr. Henshaw expressed his gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for his compassionate leadership and commitment to the welfare of the people. He assured that the palliatives would be distributed evenly, with each village receiving a fair share.

The distribution process was witnessed by village heads, youth leaders, and women leaders, who praised the government’s initiative. They commended Engr. Henshaw for his transparency and dedication to ensuring that the palliatives reached the intended beneficiaries.

The Okobo Local Government Area’s distribution process is part of the larger state-wide effort to provide succor to the masses. The initiative has been hailed as a significant step in addressing hunger and economic challenges in the state.

With the successful distribution in Okobo, the Akwa Ibom State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being of its citizens, and Governor Umo Eno’s administration continues to receive accolades for its people-centered approach.
