A grown known as the North East Youth Arise (NEYA) is set to hold its conference to reduce youth unemployment and enhance its productivity in the country. The Convener, NEYA, Sophie Tarfe while speaking in Abuja at a press conference noted that the group is a movement focused on youth using its potentials to develop themselves and the nation at large.
According to her, the North -East which suffers extreme poverty is the focus for NEYA conference considering youthful exuberance and crime which permeate the region. “The group is set to change the thinking and mindset of the youth. Every youth has ability to make something meaningful for themselves, considering age, strength and time which is still on their side”. She added that the North- East is a sitting time bomb that needs urgent attention.
Speaking further, she noted that top celebrities, and experts in the field of agriculture will mentor the youth on how to leverage on their potentials and skill. “We are here to help people particularly from the North East. We want to change the narrative, so they can have a good mechanism to be part of the society. It is essential for the youth to fully harness the gift”.
