Senator Ned Nwoko has spoken publicly for the first time following the circulation of a viral video showing his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, in distress.

In a statement and video shared via his verified Instagram handle @princenednwoko on Sunday, the lawmaker attributed the actress’s recent conduct to what he described as “drug-influenced and unprovoked carnage.”

Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, said the actress was battling drug and alcohol abuse, a struggle he claimed had destabilised their marriage in recent months.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem,” the senator stated.

“She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety.”

The statement follows growing social media speculation about a possible rift between the couple after videos surfaced online showing a visibly emotional Regina Daniels in what appeared to be a domestic altercation.

While Nwoko did not provide details about the alleged incident, he appealed to the public to respect their family’s privacy as they navigate what he described as a “deeply personal and painful phase.”

Efforts to reach Regina Daniels or her representatives for comment were unsuccessful as of press time.

The couple, who got married in 2019, have two children together.
