The Management and Staff of Newsday Newspaper heartily congratulate the Government and the good people of Akwa Ibom State on the joyous occasion of the 38th Anniversary of our dear state.
We sincerely thank former President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR, for his foresight and wisdom in creating our beloved state on September 23, 1987.
As we celebrate this milestone, we join millions of Akwa Ibom sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to pray for the continued peace, unity, and progress of our state.
We also pray for God’s abundant blessings, good health, divine wisdom, and protection upon His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, as he pilots the affairs of our state with vision, humility, and the fear of God.
In the same vein, we commend the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Senator Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi, for her steadfast loyalty, humility, and support to His Excellency the Governor in the service of Akwa Ibom State. Her commitment to the Governor’s vision of peace, unity, and development remains exemplary.
We further acknowledge the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, for his dedication, administrative acumen, and tireless efforts in coordinating government policies and programs for the overall progress of Akwa Ibom State.
We also commend the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, and all Honourable Members of the House, for their legislative support in strengthening democracy and driving development in our state.
We salute the Honourable Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State and the entire Judiciary, for upholding justice, fairness, and the rule of law, which remain the bedrock of peace and good governance.
