Joint operation of FCT clears under bridge along Kado express

In a bid to rid the fct metropolis of illegal trucks, vehicles and abandoned motors ,the combined joint team of DRTS, AEPB  ,police , civil defense and others successfully carried out complete clearance of the Setraco under bridge where heavy cranes have turned to permanent garage.
The exercise made possible by the evacuation trucks of the recovery section of DRTS  went on with positive results.
There is no doubt that the evacuation trucks of DRTS towed some trucks used as cranes that operates from the bridge. The FCT Minister in his desire to clean the city capacitated the joint team to clear illegal mechanic workshops, car wash and other areas illegally used for activities.
Observers hailed the joint operations of the team. The recovery section of the DRTS ensured the smooth evacuation of some of the trucks. There has been reported cases of nuisance and jam packed situations in many metropolitan parts of the city which has raised serious concerns among residents.
There has also been security threats emanating from the assembling of such trucks under the bridge. Recently, there was reported robbery incident under the same bridge. The DRTS recovery team also successfully cleared Mabushi village junction of such junk and abandoned vehicles.
 Sometimes,criminals use the places as hideouts through perpetrating their nefarious activities right inside the vehicles and even hiding of arms. One of the recovery staff who spoke under condition of anonymity emphasised that with the various degrees of robbery and other crimes been perpetrated on daily basis,the evacuation of illegally vehicles is necessary as some of the hoodlums sleeps in some of the vehicles parked in such places.
He said that the intelligence and surveillance team of the recovery section is always on ground to get intelligence information on such areas. He advised people to report cases of regrouping in areas where evacuation was made.
