Since the inception of the Tinubu administration, the Efcc has carried out onslaught against bureau de change operators mainly northerners. And recently dealers on gold in wuse market. Two workers stole gold estimated to be seven hundred million naira from the home of the inspector general of police and sold it to a gold dealer in wuse market. The gold said to belong to the principal staff officer three to the IGP a CSP and also an in-law to the IGP. The main culprit who bought the gold disappear leaving the police arresting innocent traders who only did pos transaction Inthe past and recently with the main culprit. The IGP intelligence response team arrested over thirty traders and detained them for twenty four days now without charging them to court. Today, the police has issued a fictitious press statement deceiving Nigerians that they bursted gold robbers how? All the facts on what happened is there. Instead of the Police treating the real case of the gold thieves who are their staff whether supernumerary or regimented officers could better be explained by the IGP and his household since it was alleged it happened in the IG’s residence. No matter what, the national security adviser must Wade into this matter because it has become scandalous and capable of denting the good image of the Tinubu administration. Tinubu the Jagaban Borgu a title from New Bussa in Niger state must call the IGP to order. Going by ethical standard, where did the PSO 3 to the IG get money to buy gold? How much is her salary? Or is she fronting for her sister the wife to the IGP. The IRT on it own withdrew large sums ranging from 13 to 25 million naira including another 11 million from the accounts of the detained suspects. Did the IRT get court order to do that? It is almost twenty four days now since the suspects got detained, why did it take the Police such a long time before issuing press statement? Was the press statement not converted simply because a strong radio station approached the police for documents they already had? From the suspicious police defence,Nigerians have once again been reminded of how the police cook up false stories inorder to prosecute innocent people. Beyond the IG now,the President must put aside his relationship with Egbetokun the IGP and order for a probe into the matter because he is a president for all. Similarly, cooking gas imported from Niger intercepted in Kano by Efcc operatives are still held and wasting even after appeals by notable northerners. The plea bargain initially agreed between the Efcc team and the suspects was ignored after deceiving the suspects to withdraw a case earlier interred at the federal high court Kano on enforcement of fundamental human rights. Nigerians particularly northerners waits for the response of Mr President,NSA and police affairs ministers.
