The United Summit Friends Development Association under the able leadership of Mr Nathaniel O. Michael, a Niger Deltan has emerged to sensitize, enlighten and educate Nigerians on the need to bring back the lost tolerance, unity and togetherness that once existed amongst the citizen irrespective of tribe, religion and class, particularly during the First Republic.
The National Coordinator of the group stated this during the world press conference in Abuja.
Nathaniel cautioned about the threat to the well-being of the citizens as the country has been together since amalgamation.
He implored Nigerians to rally around only credible, idealistic and foresighted leaders during the 2023 Presidential election.
He emphasized that amongst the top contenders, there exists a personality whose sojourn as the Chief executive of a Southwestern state improved IGR, human capacity building, employment generation, medical services, infrastructure, human relations and other dividends of democracy.
“Scorecards on achievements of candidates in the past positions they held must form the criteria for them to be voted by electorates. Nigeria is a great country endowed with mineral resources that must be utilised for the benefit of the people and not private pockets.”
“It is only through unity and peace that can wipe out insecurity in some northern states. He tasked politicians on selflessness,service delivery and patriotism. He also called for issue based campaigns than defamation of characters. “
