GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION PETITION TRIBUNAL UPDATE: Nsima vs Udom

The Tribunal on TUESDAY, August 20, 2019, after resumption from the recess, commenced its activities by admitting three more witnesses who pleaded the Tribunal to adopt their depositions as evidence in the case. In this order a total of 16 witnesses had so far testified in support of the PDP Governorship Candidate, Udom Emmanuel.

On general note, all the witnesses: RW 14, Wilfred Okon, PDP polling Unit Agent at Ibikpe in Uruan LGA (who was unable to explain the question of multiple thumbprinting put across to him during cross examination); RW15, Etim Esin Ukim PDP Polling Agent Oruko 02 in Urue Offong/Oruko LGA. (who was unable to expound on the irregularity of the signature of APC Agent presumed to have been doctored, scores cancellation and upward adjustment of scores in favour PDP spotted on result sheet) and Eld. Enefiok Ekefre of 33B Eda Street Anua, Uyo LGA ( a man whose legal name is not known), all rhymed to the same regular rhythm of free, fair and credible election in their respective testimonies and in sharp contrast to INEC claims which led to the cancellation of 245 polling Units results due to inestimable irregularities in that very election.

But during cross examination, the three witnesses could not justify their spurious claims anymore when the documents presented to them to sort out whether they were accredited or not, proved succinctly to them that the election did not take place in their respective units, which they exclaimed bitterly as they turned around to blame 1NEC for not doing its job properly.

However, it is also worth mentioning that it was a bit sidesplitting and chucklesome when RW16, a current member of PDP was presented as an APC Caucus member with outdated letter (November 2016) to testify against APC despite the well known fact that he left APC last year at the time Sen. Godswill Akpabio joined APC.

After his testimony, the Respondent 01 had no other witness on the roll for the day.

On the above note, Tribunal closed abruptly to resume on subsequent day.
