The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D., has approved the immediate release of N50bn to all contractors whose Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) are ready.

During an impromptu project inspection visit to the Ibom Model Farm at Ikot Edibon, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, the Governor directed the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service to ensure that all IPCs at the Accountant-General’s office are paid.

He explained that it was imperative to maximize the benefits of the dry season; hence, contractors should be mobilized back to site immediately.

“Please ensure the monitoring teams are made to inspect and report compliance by the contractors,” the Governor told his Executive Assistant and Chief Delivery Adviser, Mr. Aniefiok Johnson.
