Governor Bala Muhammad declares Monday as Public holiday in Bauchi State

The Governor of Bauchi State, Gov. Bala Muhammad, has declared Monday a work-free day so as to enable citizens to enrol in the ongoing CVR exercise.
The Governor made this statement through a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Mukhtar Gidado on Friday at the State Capital.
Mr Gidado explained that this is to allow the state public and civil servants to reach out to their respective localities to register and obtain their PVCs.
While adding that the governor expressed concern over the poor turnout of eligible voters.
“By this, all Commissioners, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries, and other top government functionaries are directed to proceed to their respective electoral wards and mobilize eligible registrants to come out en mass.
Furthermore, the INEC commission has agreed to extend the ongoing CVR exercise by 60days, its initial deadline on June 30th 2022.
Recalling that on Monday, the High Court in Abuja stopped INEC from ending the exercise, Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of Court 10 granted an order of interim infection following the hearing of an argument on motion exparte by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project.
