…Assures on dual carriageway projects, Ibom Deep Sea Port development
Nsit Ubium, Akwa Ibom State — In a strategic move to strengthen party unity and reaffirm commitment to ongoing development initiatives, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, presided over a landmark All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting tagged “Home Going” at the Nsit Ubium Local Government Secretariat, Ikot Edibon.
Governor Eno, addressing party faithful and community leaders, restated his administration’s determination — alongside the Federal Government — to deliver the long-awaited Ibom Deep Sea Port project. He disclosed that all required documentation and investor-sourcing processes are active and progressing steadily.
“We will very soon start the Ibom Deep Sea Port. It is a long process, and documentation takes much time. Processes of canvassing for suitable and competent investors are ongoing.
The Federal Government is ready, and we are working the talk. Let our people be patient and rest assured that the project will soon be a delightful reality for our common good,”
the Governor said.
Governor Eno expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and reception from Nsit Ubium residents and party stakeholders. He pledged to consolidate the area’s development footprint, announcing plans for several dual carriageway projects, including:
- Nung Udoe to East-West Road
- Nung Udoe to Afaha Nsit
- Afaha Offiong to Itreto
He urged the people to remain aligned with the APC, noting that Akwa Ibom State has strategically positioned itself for greater national integration and benefits.
Earlier, the Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Hon. Alfred Charles, described the event as a “homecoming” for the Governor and praised his impactful leadership, which he said is evident in the numerous developmental projects across the Local Government and the State.
APC Chapter Chairman, Hon. Johnson Udoka, also thanked God for the party’s renewed strength in the State and for what he described as “a positive turnaround for the people.”
Other speakers, including the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Obareki; political leader of Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Effiong Bob; Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Captain Iniobong Ekong; Member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency, Hon. Otobong Bob; and elder statesman Obong Umanah Okon Umanah, lauded Governor Eno for his inclusive and visionary leadership.
