Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Friday led a delegation of members of the State Executive Council, political leaders, and other dignitaries to the funeral of the late Mrs. Magdalene Ubom Udoakpan, mother-in-law of the Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo.
The solemn ceremony, held at St. Bernard Parish, Ikot Udom, in Ika Local Government Area, attracted eminent personalities from across the country who gathered to honour the late matriarch, described by her family as a woman of deep faith, compassion, and service to humanity.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was represented at the event by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, while the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, was represented by Rep. Unyime Idem.
Governor Eno, in his condolence message, urged the family to take solace in the impactful life Mrs. Udoakpan lived and the legacies she left behind. He prayed for God’s comfort and strength for the bereaved family.
The funeral service also drew the presence of members of the Federal Executive Council, political office holders, community leaders, and sympathisers who paid glowing tributes to the deceased.
