Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has called on the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, to remain resolute in his style of governance anchored on peace, tolerance, and development.
Wike, who spoke during a public engagement, commended Governor Eno’s calm disposition and consistent efforts to unite Akwa Ibom people, noting that forgiveness should not be mistaken for weakness but embraced as a mark of strength in leadership.
“Your Excellency, continue to do good. Forgiveness is not a weakness but a strength. Only visionary leaders have the courage to forgive while still focusing on service to the people,” Wike stated.
He emphasized that genuine leaders are remembered not just for the projects they execute but also for the atmosphere of peace and reconciliation they cultivate among their people.
Observers say Wike’s remarks further project Governor Umo Eno as a peace-driven leader whose steady, inclusive style of governance is gradually setting a new tone in Akwa Ibom politics. Since assuming office, Governor Eno has prioritized people-oriented initiatives, rural development, and policies designed to promote unity and collective growth across the state.
Many analysts also believe Wike’s commendation underscores the growing recognition of Eno’s leadership model beyond Akwa Ibom, especially at a time when political tensions in different parts of the country have raised concerns about stability and cohesion.
