The Oodua integrity group and the Arewa Renaissance initiative have after their joint interaction in Abuja, called on President Bola Tinubu not to confirm Wale Adeniyi the customs controller general over his failure to respond to allegations of age reduction and overstay in public service raised by a reputable international organisation recently.
The team leader of the joint group discussion of the two civil society organisations, Muntari Fasasi, emphasised that the occupation of public office has now made some public officers arrogant and sees nothing incriminating in giving deaf ears to demand for information by the people which in all ramifications are wrong going by the existence of the freedom of information bill.
“The CG is currently acting, if till now he is unable to give a straightforward answer shows his guilt and culpability in the allegation. It is a very simple question and answer. Sir, how old are you, this required a simple answer.
” Till now, neither the CG nor the Presidential spokesperson has responded. We must not destroy our democracy by feeling Yes I have Godfathers, nothing can happen.
“Scandals have emerged from the various appointments of President Tinubu but some like Hanatu, issued press statements but Wale refused to do so and he was a public relations officer in the past who understands the rules of the game. We are therefore collectively Calling for the non-confirmation of the CG”, he said.
