The National Coordinator of Conference of Patriotic Nigerians( COPAN) has described as timely the bold stance the Arewa consultative forum has taken against the escalating insecurity in some parts of Northern Nigeria.
Barrister Uchenna Odieli the COPAN Coordinator made this known in a press statement.
He reiterated that their vocal condemnation of the situation and call for decisive action is a testimony to their commitment to the well being and safety of the northerners.
He amongst other things commended and lauded the ACF for speaking the truth to those in corridors of power and as well demanding accountability from those responsible for addressing insecurity.
“We are advocating for a comprehensive approach to tackling the root causes of insecurity, poverty, unemployment and social inequality.”
COPAN also eulogized the call by ACF for the restructuring of the country so as to address the underlying structural issues that has contributed to the current state of insecurity.
“The leadership of the ACF and advocacy on this critical issues are crucial in mobilising collective action towards a more secured and prosperous Nigeria.
“We stand in solidarity with the ACF and echo their call for urgent action to restore peace and stability in the region. We also urge ACF to continue to mobilise support for the renewed hope agenda under the administration of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu ( Jagaban Borgu) .
“President Bola Tinubu by the grace of God can fix Nigeria despite the current economic challenges we are going through”, he said.
