The Executive Chairman, Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. (Amb.) Chief Uno Etim Uno JP, has described the current political climate in Akwa Ibom State as one of remarkable and unprecedented unity.

He made this assertion on Monday in his country home, Eyulor, when a socio-political group, Uno Grassroots Foundation (UGF), held its Patrons Investiture ceremony.

Chief Uno emphasized the unity Governor Umo Eno has fostered across the state, saying:

‘It is even a waste of time to form opposition camps in today’s Akwa Ibom.  Governor Umo Eno has transformed all of us into Akwa Ibom United, where our political direction is as determined by the Governor. In the last two years, he operated a unity government without discrimination, which made the recent progressive movement seamless.” He noted.

The Chairman thanked the members and leaders of the organization, urging them to remain loyal and committed to the reelection of Pastor Umo Eno and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Many of us today spoke about the vision that took us to the Mopol Headquarters on Idoro Road. Idoro Road has become a metaphor for the political struggle and commitment to enthrone popular democracy and development. My current chairmanship is a culmination of that journey that began in 2009.

“Just as we remained loyal to our party back then and patiently waited for God to reward our dedication, the UGF is renowned for its loyalty, patience, and commitment to democratic ideals, human capital advancement, and infrastructural development. We are not a group for problems.

“You have demonstrated capacity in the past, and we will continue to support you in mobilizing for the re-election of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and all other candidates our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), will project in 2027.”

Delivering goodwill messages, dignitaries including the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Arit Ambit JP; Leader, Hon. Sunday Eyo; Council Secretary, Mr. Amana Henshaw; Pioneer Vice Chairman and Village Head of Eyobiasang, Chief Efiong Uye; Prof. Ibia Ibia; National Women Leader, Mrs. Mary Esekung; Dean of Supervisors, Hon. Isidore Okon and Comrade Uya Usuyak unanimously praised UGF for its consistent grassroots engagement,  describing its members as steadfast disciples of democracy and development under the visionary leadership of Chief Uno.

They also encouraged both old and aspiring members to emulate Chief Uno’s exemplary leadership and patience; qualities that have earned him a reputation for loyalty, trustworthiness, and reliable reward system.

In his remarks, the UGF National President, Comrade Esio O. Esio, while conducting investiture of new patrons, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to unity, peace, and progress.

He noted that the new patrons were chosen based on merit, especially their dedication, competence, and character, adding that the honour was a call to greater service.

The event was well-attended by notable personalities, including former Council Chairman, Hon. Umana Efombru; PDP Chapter Chairman, Hon. Pastor Tom Efombru; Apostle Dr. Aniefiok Ating Bassey; and all serving councillors and supervisors.
