Buhari says Old 200 notes remain legal tender till 10th April

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhahri has announced that the old N200 note remain a legal tender until 10th April 2023.
Sympathizing with Nigerians over the naira scacity crisis, PMB took to the National Broadcast to disclose this on Thursday in Abuja.
Buhari said “To further ease the supply particularly to our citizens, I have given approval to the CBN that the old N200 bank notes be released back into circulation and that it should also be allowed to circulate as legal tender with the new  N200, N500, and N1000 bank note for 60 days from Feb 10 till April 10 2023, when the old N200 note ceases to become legal tender.”
While also recalling that, since the process begin  over 2.1 trillion naria note that was held outside has been  successfully retrieved back into the banking system which represents 80% of such funds in the short to medium and long terms.
