In a well attended roundtable discussion on the need to immediately organise the national convention of the ruling All Progressive congress ( APC).
The group has called on the interim committee led by the Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, to live up to INEC’s requirement which stipulates that an internal management must be in place duly elected, other than interim committee before general elections.
Hajia Indatu Mukhtar, the women group spokesperson, emphasized that it is becoming embarrassing for the President, National leader, National Assembly leadership, and Party chieftains, to ignore the most important constitutional provision.
“As it is now, not all the geopolitical zones are represented in the present arrangement as 2023 approaches.
This is the singular reason, why we as mothers of the party must not fold our arms for things to deteriorate.
It is high time we organize the convention, since we have aspirants who possess the qualities to move the country forward.”
“The APC as the ruling party has all it takes to win the 2023 elections, but more effort has to be put in by way of electing credible individuals that can steer the ship of the party.
The lost of confidence in the leadership of the management committee is responsible for the divisions we are having in local government, state and zonal chapters,
and you do not expect to win any of the elections with this divisions.”
The association said the the interim committee should be winded up in order for the group to forge ahead.
“The earlier the better for us inorder to continue beyond 2023.We implore the President to intervene so as to achieve our aim.”
