Urue Offong Oruko, Akwa Ibom State — The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Area witnessed an impressive political convergence yesterday, Saturday, as party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered for a well-attended homecoming meeting at the Local Government Council Secretariat.

The meeting was led by the Executive Chairman of Urue Offong Oruko Local Government, Rt. Hon. Uno Etim Uno, who arrived in the company of his wife. His presence, alongside other key stakeholders, was described as a strong statement of unity and renewed commitment to repositioning the party at the grassroots.

Former Transition Chairman of the council, Chief Edet Isong, was also in attendance, joining other prominent figures who reiterated the importance of internal cohesion within the party.

Other notable attendees included the Member representing Urue Offong Oruko State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mrs. Precious Selong; retired INEC Director, Emmanuel Isong; former Chairman and former Member representing Oron Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Esio Okwong Udoh; National Population Commission (NPC) Commissioner, Engr. Ben Ukpong; Engr. Nseobong Essang; Robinson Edumoh; and Prof. Ibia Edet Ibia, among several other stalwarts.

Speakers at the event underscored the need for party unity, enhanced mobilisation, and strategic preparation ahead of future political engagements. Many described the turnout as a clear indication of the APC’s increasing popularity and acceptance across the local government area.

The meeting, which participants commended for its peaceful and inclusive atmosphere, ended with renewed assurances of collective commitment to strengthening party structures.

Members also reaffirmed their loyalty and pledged continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umo Uno.
