The Nigeria Union of Journalist, Akwa- Ibom State chapter, has nominated Newsday Publisher, Chief Edet Isong for the chapter’s Ambassadorial award, as part of celebration to mark the NUJ press week.
The award was given to Newsday Publisher due to his massive investment in human capacity through the media, and towards the benefit of Akwa- Ibom people and humanity in general.
The organizers of the event said they are hopeful that the award will serve as an encouragement to render more services to mankind in general.
The Publisher of Newsday Newspapers, Chief Edet Isong, while speaking called on all Journalists to write in-depth stories on the issue of corruption in Nigeria.
According to him, corruption is affecting every areas of the society, the media should work towards eliminating the menance in the society.
” I want Journalist to remain the watchdog of the society. They should not be biased when carrying out their professional work.
No matter the Calibre of individuals engaging in corrupt acts, the media practitioner should be bold to speak”.
Chief Isong has been actively involved in the media industry for more than 18 years. He is also the Founder of Isong Child care and Health Foundation.
