The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State on Thursday commenced its statewide ward meetings, a move aimed at strengthening internal cohesion and deepening grassroots engagement across the party.
Speaking on the development, a chieftain of the party from Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Area, Chief Edet Isong (Okete Okete Oro), expressed satisfaction with the initiative, describing it as timely and strategic in fostering unity, inclusiveness, and closer ties among party members statewide.
According to him, the ward meetings provide an important platform for interaction, dialogue, and reconciliation among members, while reinforcing the APC’s commitment to participatory politics and collective decision-making at the grassroots level.
Chief Isong noted that since Governor Umo Eno joined the APC, the party in Akwa Ibom State has continued to grow from strength to strength, witnessing increased acceptance, renewed energy, and massive grassroots support across all local government areas.
He described the growing popularity of the party as unprecedented, stating that the APC is fast becoming “a movement and almost a religion” in the state due to its inclusive leadership style, people-oriented policies, and renewed unity.
He commended His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the APC leadership in the state for their foresight, commitment, and dedication to building a strong, united, and forward-looking party structure from the ward level upward.
Chief Isong further called on party members and supporters across Akwa Ibom State to continue to rally behind the leadership of the party and to support the second-term ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno, noting that their leadership remains critical to sustained development and political stability in the state and the nation at large.
“The success of the APC depends on the involvement and commitment of every member. These ward meetings present an opportunity for us to come together as one family and work collectively for the progress of the party, the state, and the nation,” he stated.
The statewide ward meetings are expected to set the tone for renewed unity, deeper engagement, and stronger grassroots participation within the Akwa Ibom APC.
