    The Executive Chairman of UrueOffong/Oruko Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Chief Uno Etim Uno has performed excellently well as he marks one year in office. Below are a few highlights of his achievements.

    1. RESTORATION OF BASIC SERVICES AND SECRETARIAT IMPROVEMENTS

    * Restored electric power to the Council Secretariat, ensuring efficient administration and productivity.

    * Provided modern furniture and office equipment for principal officers and councillors, creating a more conducive working environment.

    2. EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND HUMAN CAPACITY BUILDING

    * Constructed and commissioned ultra-modern teachers’ quarters at Government Primary School, Oyoku Ibighi and Government School, Eyulor, both equipped with solar power and water systems.

    * Initiated plans to engage part-time teachers in core subjects (especially sciences).

    * Proposed establishment of JAMB preparatory centres to assist secondary school students in tertiary admissions.

    * Distributing 200 free JAMB forms and organizing free JAMB classes and CBT training for indigenes of the Local Government Area, offering 30 university scholarships and N200,000 grants to law students,

    3. RURAL ROADS AND INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

    * Repaired the failed Eyulor–Oruko Road, improving access between communities.

    * Supervised the grading and opening of rural roads to ease the movement of people and agricultural produce.

    4. EMPOWERMENT AND ECONOMIC SUPPORT

    * Launched a Women Business Support Scheme, where 60 women from 33 villages received ₦50,000 each to boost small-scale enterprises

    * Sustained monthly women’s assemblies and prayer summits, serving as platforms for empowerment, mentorship, and spiritual growth.

    5. HEALTH, RURAL DEVELOPMENT, AND SECURITY

    * Collaborated with state and military authorities to support the proposed military barracks project in the Oron Zone, pledging full cooperation for site provision, access roads, and power supply.

    * Enhanced environmental sanitation by employing and paying community cleaners.

    * Improved security at the Council Secretariat through installation of CCTV surveillance systems.

    6. GOOD GOVERNANCE, INCLUSION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

    * Promoted unity and inclusivity, de-emphasizing partisan divides and fostering collective participation in governance.

    * Convened non-partisan stakeholder meetings to deliberate on development issues and strengthen community relations.

    * Ensured transparency and accountability through periodic performance scorecards, such as the 100-Day and 3-Month Progress Reports.

    * Initiated the construction of solar-powered boreholes in strategic communities to enhance access to clean water.

    * Supported the Urue-Offong/Oruko Technical College, Eyokpifie, with infrastructural development and educational materials.

    Not forgetting the ongoing renovation and reconstruction of the local government entrance gate, Local Government Hall, and beautifying the pathways in the council 

    Rt. Hon. Chief Uno Etim Uno’s administration continues to exemplify transformational leadership, marked by vision, inclusiveness, and service to the people. His commitment to infrastructural growth, human capital development, and community empowerment underscores his passion for a prosperous Urue-Offong/Oruko Local Government Area.
