As President Tinubu, Akpabio, Gov. Umo Eno Receive Endorsement for Re-election

The Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator (Dr.) Akon Eyakenyi, on Sunday hosted youth leaders from Oron Federal Constituency at the Government House, Uyo, where they declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Eyakenyi highlighted the positive impact of the ARISE Agenda on Oro Nation and solicited sustained youth support for the administration of Governor Umo Eno.

She described the Governor’s inclusive style of governance as unprecedented in its benefits to Oro Nation, citing major projects including the dualisation of the Uyo–Nsit Atai–Okobo–Oron Road, the Oron Marine Terminal, Ibom Deep Seaport, Oron Beach Project, model secondary schools, healthcare centres, compassionate homes, road construction across the five local government areas of the constituency, and various empowerment programmes.

According to her, the Governor’s first term has brought relief to the people after decades of infrastructural challenges, assuring that a second term would deliver even more development.

“After over twenty years of difficulties faced by our people, today we can drive freely from Uyo to Oro. The Oron Beach project is a composite development with world-class facilities that will create thousands of jobs and permanently transform the Oro landscape,” she said.

Senator Eyakenyi also assured that the Ibom Deep Seaport project is progressing, urging massive support for Governor Umo Eno and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including President Tinubu, while calling for goodwill and prayers for the Senate President in the interest of the state.

She further encouraged the youth leaders to mobilize their communities to participate actively in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and the APC e-registration exercise, describing it as a practical demonstration of political support.

Speaking on behalf of the youth, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization (Oron Federal Constituency), Ulap Godswill Ekpenyong, the National President, Ibom Progressives Mandate, Hon. Raphael Anwanakak, and the State Vice Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Dr. Akaiso Oboho, commended the Deputy Governor for her stabilising role in Oro Nation.

They credited her leadership with the revival of Essu Nlap Oro and the restoration of peace within Oron Union, describing her as a loyal and dependable Deputy Governor whose role has contributed to the administration’s successes.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the Member representing Oron Federal Constituency, Rep. Martins Esin, the President, Essu Nlap Oro and Member representing Mbo State Constituency, Chief Efiong Johnson, and the Delivery Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Orman Esin, all of whom praised the administration for its development strides in Oro Nation.

The meeting climaxed with a motion moved by Obong Wilson Onofiok and seconded by Ulap Victor Uweh, unanimously endorsing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Governor Pastor Umo Eno, and all APC candidates in 2027.
