…Commends Gov. Umo Eno’s Transformational Projects in Oro Nation

The Executive Chairman of Oron Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Okon Asukwo Enweme, has applauded the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, for what he described as a deliberate and passionate commitment to restoring the pride of the Oron people through ongoing strategic projects across the area.

Chief Enweme gave the commendation on Monday, November 17, when the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Aniekan Umana, PhD, led a project-tracking team to Oron to inspect projects executed by both the state and local governments.

The Council Chairman conducted the Commissioner and his entourage around major facilities within the Council Secretariat, including the renovated Multi-Purpose Hall, the Legislative Block, the ongoing Administrative Block, the Youth-Friendly Centre, and the ARISE Model Primary Health Centre — all of which mirror the Governor’s development blueprint for the LGA.

The team also visited the multi-billion-naira Oron Beach rebranding project, envisioned to transform the shoreline into an International Maritime Hub. They were received by the Governor’s Delivery Advisor, Hon. Orman Esin, who assured the delegation of timely completion and outlined key components of the project.

The inspection further covered state-executed road projects on Ukpong Street and Effiong Street, as well as the Primary Health Centre at Udung Usotai in Ward 8, which is currently undergoing comprehensive renovation under the Chief Enweme administration.

In his remarks, Chief Enweme lauded Governor Eno’s unwavering love for Oron LGA and the entire Oro Nation, assuring that the people would reciprocate the gesture with overwhelming support for his re-election bid in 2027. He disclosed that preparations were underway for the inauguration of a new political support group, “Friends of Pastor Umo Eno,” expected to mobilize over 20,000 foot soldiers across the Oron Federal Constituency in support of the Governor’s second-term ambition.

Responding, Commissioner Umana — accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethical Reorientation, Dr. Osondu Ahirika — expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and commended the Council Chairman for his proactive leadership and commitment to the ARISE Agenda. He reaffirmed Governor Eno’s determination to fully deliver on his development mandate and urged the people of Oron to remain united for the greater good of the state.

Dignitaries who joined the inspection included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Princess Owoebiak; Council Secretary, Engr. Asuquo Asuquo; Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Elder Anietie Okon; former Vice Chairman, Rt. Hon. Charles Bassey; Supervisors, Special Advisers, Chief of Staff, Ulap Victor Joe, and other key stakeholders.
