A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has called an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) for Tuesday.
The faction, led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, said the meetings would hold at the PDP national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
In a notice signed by Samuel Anyanwu, a close ally of Wike, the BoT is scheduled to convene at 11 a.m., followed by sessions of other organs of the party.
The development is the latest sign of deepening divisions within the PDP, coming amid ongoing internal disputes over leadership and control of party structures.
