    CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE

Chief Edet Isong, Okete Okete Oro, Felicitates

Chief Okon Asukwo Enweme on One Year in Office as Executive Chairman, Oron Local Government Area

Chief Edet Isong, Okete Okete Oro, joyfully joins the people of Oron Local Government in congratulating Chief Okon Asukwo Enweme on the completion of a commendable first year in office as Executive Chairman. Under his leadership, the Council has made several strides across sectors that are positively impacting Oron people.

    KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

Based on publicly available reports, here are some of Chief Enweme’s notable achievements in his first year:

    • Human Capacity & Skills Development:
He enrolled ten indigenes of Oron for a month-long intensive product manufacturing training at the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC), including covering fees, accommodation, feeding, and materials.
He also sponsored ICT training for 200 Oron youths in partnership with the EDAF ICT Hub.
    • Health Interventions:
He organised a cervical cancer screening for over 1,000 women from Oron nation.
Over 850 people benefitted from free eye tests, treatment, and surgeries (where necessary).
    • Education Support:
Procurement of 200 JAMB forms for prospective UTME candidates, accompanied by free preparatory tutorials.
    • Security, Infrastructure & Environment:
Beautification and upgrading of the Council Secretariat, including installation of 95 solar street lights to improve lighting and bolster security.
    • Governance & Inclusive Appointments:
Appointed over 75 aides from all five Local Government Areas of Oro Nation, demonstrating inclusivity in leadership.

    SIGNIFICANCE OF THESE ACHIEVEMENTS

These accomplishments speak to several qualities of Chief Enweme’s leadership:

    • That his administration places people’s welfare—especially women, youths, and students—at the forefront.
    • That capacity-building, empowerment and skills acquisition are central in his vision, not just infrastructure.
    • That inclusive governance (appointment of aides from across the LGA) and security/environmental enhancement are considered together with social service delivery.

    FELICITATION & PRAYER

Chief Edet Isong, Okete Okete Oro, once again heartily congratulates Chief Okon Asukwo Enweme on this first year of service. May the coming years bring even more bold initiatives, sustained development, improved quality of life, and continued peace and unity in Oron Local Government Area.

    Congratulations, Chief Chairman!
