The Arewa Renaissance group through its Head of investigation Haliru Nadabo, has described as affront on the judiciary the recent election of one of President Tinubu’s political boys Musiliu Oluomo popularly called MC Oluomo as the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers .
“Despite an Appeal court upholding of an earlier verdict of the Industrial Court of Nigeria which gives Prince Ibikunle affirmation as the recognised and authentic President of the union, which the other faction not satisfied took to court but the court which is the appeal court affirmed the verdict of Industrial court and upheld it.”
“But the faction loyal to MC Oluomo went ahead to hold a kangaroo election in Abuja which elected him as President. “
Arewa renaissance group is therefore imploring the chief justice of Nigeria to wade into the matter , as if left unchecked could thwart judicial verdicts and integrity.
MC Oluomo after his emergence, openly appreciated President Tinubu, his son Seyi as well as the Lagos State Governor for their support which exposed executive connivance and interference on judicial issues.
” The Federal attorney general and minister of justice must also look into the matter and invite the affected personalities to address the issue in line with judicial interpretations. Even though a pressure group,it is wrong and must be checked.”
The link between the President,Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the illegally elected NURTW President , did not start today as it is a well known fact that he has been the President’s political errand boy.
“We cannot allow our judiciary to be rubbished. The holding of elections by MC Oluomo and his cohorts is an affront and confrontation on the judiciary and must not be tolerated.
As such, the Chief Justice of Nigeria must act in this direction.
“Not even the President and Commander in Chief can defy the ruling of the courts talk more of his political boy. It is a known fact that Alhaji Prince Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa was affirmed as the re elected national President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers and the n
Najeem and MC Oluomo faction took it to appeal court and appeal court affirmed Baruwa still as the re elected President, so why can’t MC Oluomo, Najeem Yasin the board of trustees chairman Obey court verdicts?
“Are they better than any Nigerian citizen or above the law? We want the newly sworn in chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Kekere Ekun to prove her competence and neutrality by acting fast and calling the bluff of MC Oluomo and his loyalist.”
He said the act is capable of ridiculing the judicial system as we struggle to strengthen our judiciary.
