The Arewa youths for peace and security has cautioned the Osun state police command against concluding investigation without ascertaining facts obtained from suspects which might be under duress.
Comrade Salihu Dantata Mahmud a security analyst and director of security salute Nigeria initiative made this observation while reacting to an allegation made under duress by one of the serial killers arrested in connection with abductions and killings of people in Ilesha Osun state.
The cultist during confession indicted a serving house of representative member representing ijesa south federal constituency hon Sanya Omirin. Sometimes this confessional statements are made by this suspects under duress or to have soft landing.
According a secret investigation I carried out,the statement made by the suspect in Yoruba which I have a copy differs from what the police came out with. I just hope one opposition member is not somewhere writing the script for the police. Knowing very well how the politics of Osun state is, it is not unexpected.
PDP is currently incharge of all the elective offices in Osun state as such,you don’t expect anything different than opposition fowl play.
The inspector general of police should please immediately takeover the case for transparency. In a situation where the real confessional statement of a suspect differs from what the police is giving is itself compromise and demonstrates poor policing.
