We will diversify our products and services to enhance digital technology – NIPOST

The Nigeria Postal Service said it will continue to intensify the process of diversifying its products and services, to meet the aspirations of the teeming public to enhance digital technology.
The Post Master General of the Federation, Dr Ismail Adebayo Adewusi stated this at the unveiling of the revenue stamp protocol in Abuja.
He noted that the postal socio-economic sector is undergoing rapid changes and development in its operations.
“Information Communication Technology has affected the postal sector in several ways and the resultant challenges have changed things.
One of the statutory responsibilities of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) is the issuance of Stamps, including Revenue Stamps.”
The Post Master General said the provisions of the Amended Finance Act, 2020 empowered and gave NIPOST the statutory recognition that stamps produced by the Nigerian Postal Service are used for the denotation of payments of duties and fees.
“The use of stamps is not limited to the payment of postal services alone. Stamps also serve as objects of visual communication and as a dependable recorder of events for posterity. Through stamps, NIPOST has documented Nigeria’s history, educating and preserving our national heritage among others.”
The Chairman NIPOST Governing board, Bar. Maimuna Yaya Abubakar said the
the official unveiling of the NIPOST Revenue Stamp represents a quantum leap in the re-engineering efforts of  NIPOST.
“We will continue to work assiduously in developing and deploying innovative tools to stay ahead of the curve, and keep on pushing boundaries, and breaking new grounds until NIPOST becomes a world-class organization.”
He said NIPOST is set to reposition postal agencies for optimal performance and customer satisfaction, but stimulating them to strategically punch above their weight.
