A renowned actor and veteran popularly known as Samanja, has called on Northern state Governors, Army authorities, Senators, Representatives, and Federal Government to support his medical expenses.

When we were young specifically from the eighties to nineties, particularly in major Northern states, there used to be a must-watch TV comic drama titled Samanja Mazan Fama, a character played by Patigi born  Alhaji Usman Patigi.

He displays the life of Army officers and personnel in the barracks. How they treat their wives and also carry out their military duties and command?

Today, these renowned actor who has aged, is dying in silence due to failing health.

During my unschedule visit to his Kaduna Kabala costain residence, I wept as I sat close to him on wheel chair with little voice.

You can hardly hear him as the health problem has affected his voice.

From investigation from one of his daughters called Amina, the family has been abandoned by both government, Nollywood and kannywood.

What a country? Where is the kind gesture from President Muhammadu Buhari who was his colleague in the Military, and those of others.

“I am appealing to the Federal government, State Governors from the North, Senators, house of reps members, Dangote, BUA , Dahiru Mangal and even former Military President Muhammadu Buhari to come to his aid.”

“Their kind  gesture can save his life. Samanja must not be abandoned to die like that. He has contributed to nation building through arts. As such,it is time to reciprocate this gesture. He can be flown abroad for proper medical attention”, Dantata said.
