President Muhammadu Buhari said that the present administration has spent N1.6 trillion on social imtervention programmes in different states in the country .
The president said the federal government spending the last kobo on social intervention program for Nigerians at this period is very essential .
“It is very critical for Nigeria to have social intervention policy upon which youths can be protected and the vulnerable in the society is being protected .We will prioritize social intervention programmes and micro and small medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country ”
He further stressed that more than 200,000 youths was employed through N-Power scheme ,while several pupils from 21 states are benefiting from the school feeding.
The president also disclosed that there is no decision to door banished the Labour Union as insinuated in some quarters .
“We are commending the organized Labour for supporting the fight against corruption, adding that the administration is bent on exposing all forms of corruption in the country .
The President disclosed that security is a major issue in the country ,hence renewed efforts is being made on the part of the country to restructure the security architecture in the country.
While speaking ,Comrade Ayuba Wabba, the President of Nigeria Labour Congress called on the federal government to reduce unemployment rate and reduce poverty in the land .
He called for deliberate action towards resciscitating the country’s economy, and stressed on the need to prioritize collapsed industries.
“We need to stop importation of petroleum products and smuggling,address high double digit inflation rate, and reduce poverty and unemployment rates in the country ”
