Organised labour calls off strike

The Organised Labour Union has called off the nationwide strike action that was meant to commence on Tuesday.
The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Comrade Ayuba Wabba made the disclosure at the end of the meeting of the tripartite committee set up to come up with the new minimum wage.
Comrade Wabba said the new figure will only be announced after the meeting with President Muhammed Buhari on Tuesday.
Wabba commended the tripartite committee members for their support during the negotiation process.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha described the whole process as a long journey.
“We appreciate the members of the committee for doing a wonderful job. The committee has worked tenaciously to reach a logical conclusion”
The Chairman of the Committee, Amma Pepple expressed said the new figure will be released at the end of the meeting on Tuesday.
