National Shipper’s council calls for cooperation with air freight stakeholders

The National Shippers Council has called for cooperation with the Airfreight Stakeholders Forum to promote seamless trading.

Mr Jime made this call during the courtesy visit of the Airfreight Stakeholders President to the NSC headquarters in Lagos, yesterday.
According to Rakiya Dhikru-Yagboyaju, the NSC public relations officer, NSC was established to protect the interests of shippers
He added that airfreight is also essential to the fundamental responsibility.
 The NSC boss further stated that “I have been thoroughly briefed about the activities of Airfreight stakeholders forum and has port economic regulators, NSC want the business to be done seamlessly in both the seaports and airports in the country”.
  He furthermore, emphasised the need to ensure proper packaging of exports for various International markets while also assuring the council’s team support for their operations.
 Mr Onifade, the ASF President, while appreciating the Council unveils plans to launched a guideline manual to provide instructions guide to the stakeholders in the airfreight businesses. Mr. Onifade also maintained that the maritime sector can conveniently generate more than 500,000 employment opportunities and that Airfreight works out cheaper than conveyance of goods by roads.
“Enlightenment campaigns by relevant government agencies are needed for shippers to be attended with air freight benefits”.
Mr. Onifade, further recalled that Nigeria Shippers Councils and Airfreight stakeholders forum has both jointly organized several workshops and interactions on topical issues on exports and airfreight business in the country for stakeholders.
