INEC suspends court order on Ebonyi state Governor

The INEC  has suspended action on court order in regards to the defection of Ebonyi State Governor and the Deputy governor.
The commission made this known through a statement issued by Festus Okoye, the National commissioner and chairman information and voters education in Abuja.
Bar Okoye disclosed that the commission decided to take action on Umahis defection at the meeting following conflicting judgements and orders served on it from courts of coordinate jurisdiction.
Recall that INEC met on Thursday, 27 March and decided to defer its deliberation on Eboyi state cases and to step down the memorandum to enable it’s legal services and clearance committee to study the new processes served, in the light of the previously served ones and advised the commission comprehensively.
Okoye added  that the INEC commission has decided to take  action on the conflicting judgements and orders on Omaha’s defection being aware of the pendency of appeal and motions for stay of execution of some of the judgements before various divisions of the court of appeal.
